A Teacher's Guide on Energy and How to Use it Sustianably

This teacher's guide has been developed with the support (and on the request) of GOS-UNDP-GEF Programme Coordination Unit, the Seychelles' Energy Commission and the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change. This guide is a key result area of the Seychelles' Resource Efficiency project and the Seychelles' Energy Education Strategy. The content of this guide is primarily aimed for Secondary schools and consists of information, activities, figures, lesson and project ideas on energy related themes. Namely, energy and its use in every-day life, energy related issues, the use of renewable energy sources and possible energy efficient practices that can result in significant costs savings and sustainable management of energy.

It is expected that this guide will provide an additional support to the integration of Energy as an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) theme across curriculum subjects in all Secondary schools. In addition, it is hoped that the teacher's guide will complement and support the current vision of the Seychelles' Eco-Schools programme of striving for sustainability across all elements of a school's daily operation.
